My head is about to explode

When I went to nursing school, I knew that I was in for a long learning process and I stuck with it because I had to. I knew that I wanted to be nurse and I knew that it would take the long hours and hard studying to get through it. I eventually graduated with a 3.6 GPA so all the hours of studying paid off. After 7 years of working as a nurse, I have discovered that it really is not for me but it has become what I am accustomed to. I enjoy the work but I do not enjoy the hours and some of the perverted old men I have to deal with.

A few weeks ago when I decided to start trying my luck with online earnings, I knew it was what I wanted to do and I know that eventually all the hard work will pay off but I was grossly unaware of all the learning that would be involved. I just started working with Damion to  start this adventure 2 days ago and I already have a blog and a MySpace page - two things that I NEVER would have thought I would have. I must say that through my start-up last night, I have already met a couple of interesting people on MySpace that live in my neck of the woods and one that even knows Damion (small world).

Since I was off work today I took my mentor’s advice and visited about 10 different websites to start learning some information and even read two of his books. I was simply amazed at how much information is available and how many niches there are to this Internet Marketing stuff. I know that I have a very long road ahead of me but I am giving it my all!

Today, some of the things I learned were:

  • How to Edit my blog posts, pages, comments, and links
  • How to add plug-ins to my blog
  • How to add comment links and images on MySpace (thanks Marion)
  • How to make a ‘basic’ MySpace profile
  • What is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising
  • What is Affiliate Marketing
  • How to set up a blog from scratch (very good read book on this)
  • How to use deleted and expired domains to generate traffic (just scratching the surface on this)

I feel kind of like Neo (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix right after he did his first day of “training” after being plugged in to the computer to learn fighting and such. While I did not learn Kung-Fu or Karate, I did learn a lot today and it is very draining yet very satisfying as well. I do not remember ever feeling this good after a day of learning when I was in school.

Today has been a very rough day but very rewarding as well. I do not have to go into work until 2 tomorrow so I will be using the time in the morning to learn more about MySpace, how to edit my profile to include all the nice designs etc., and to expand some knowledge on affiliate marketing and product rights such as Resell Rights, Private Label Rights, etc.

So long for now - see you next time!
